Privately-Funded Undergraduate

Applications for this global admission will no longer be accepted after AY2025 Admission (application in October 2023).


  1. The Special Entrance Examination is for international students who reside outside Japan.
  2. Applicants are able to take the entrance examination without visiting Japan.
  3. Applicants are required Japanese Language Proficiency Test grade (JLPT N1, N2, or equivalent) at the time of application.
  4. Successful applicants are able to participate in a 6-month preparatory education in Japanese language and other subjects before the enrollment to the undergraduate schools.
  5. International students will be able to live in Osaka University on-campus dormitories for one year.
  6. Application and selection procedure is based on the promise that applicants commit to enroll in Osaka University if accepted.
  7. Successful applicants with outstanding academic performance will be eligible for a scholarship from Osaka University.
